Boulder Valley Rotary Community Foundation
The Boulder Valley Rotary Community Foundation (Foundation) was founded in 1991 as a not-for-profit charitable organization. The Foundation applied for and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation is a stand-alone entity from the Boulder Valley Rotary Club. All members of the Boulder Valley Rotary Club are also members of the Foundation.
The Foundation is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees consisting of the President and President Elect of the Boulder Valley Rotary Club, two members elected at large by the Club Board, and three members elected at-large by the Foundation members.
Mission Statement
The Boulder Valley Rotary Community Foundation is a community-oriented funding resource organized for charitable purposes. The Foundation will encourage and advance the objectives of The Boulder Valley Rotary Club and of Rotary International. The Foundation will build an endowment to sustain funding for these programs.
Current Status
The Foundation as of January 1, 2008 has an endowment of approximately $247,500 and holds additional program and operating funds of approximately $36,000. The Foundation has in addition established the Don Warkentin Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of one of the Club's deceased members. This fund, with an approximate balance of $20,400, was raised and established to promote international youth exchange.
